Yes - Even without a pro
Let’s be real. Not every business owner is in a place to invest in a content creator just yet — and I get it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still create content that looks polished, scroll-stopping and luxury.
So today, I want to help. Whether you're a small business owner, a service provider or just someone levelling up your brand visuals — here are 5 ways to capture elevated content using just your phone:

1 - Let There Be (Good) Light
Lighting is everything — it's what takes your content from “meh” to magazine-worthy.
If you’re not ready to buy anything just yet, use natural light:
→ Shoot near a window
→ Avoid direct sunlight (hello, harsh shadows)
→ Cloudy days = your best friend
But if you're filming regularly, investing in some softbox lights or a clip on light will seriously upgrade your setup. These two are my favourite affordable and beginner-friendly lights from Amazon:
2 - Sound & Silence: Don't Forget Audio
If you’re talking in your videos, muffled or echoey sound can immediately cheapen the vibe. Try to record in a quiet space (fabric-heavy rooms like bedrooms work well).
If you've recorded a voiceover for your video, ensure each sound bite has a clear beginning & end, no talking over eachother.
3 - Shaky Content is a NO
Smooth footage feels instantly more premium. Train your hand to glide the phone slowly and with intention.
Practice pan shots, tilts and slow zooms.
Still struggling? Time to invest in a tripod or a gimbal. Over on my IG & Tiktok, I constantly get asked what Tripod I use & it's the 'TeeFeet Iphone Tripod' from Amazon.
When I say this is my one piece of equipment that'll always be my ride or die - I mean it. After having it for a good 3 years now, she's never done me dirty. It's super sturdy all whilst being light weight, aswell as has 3 different height options & multiple adjustments throughout - for the price, you cannot go wrong.
4 - Curate Your Space like a Studio
Luxury isn’t just about editing — it’s about presentation. Before shooting, do a quick environment check:
Declutter your background
Wipe surfaces
Use neutral, minimal backdrops
And if you’re capturing product content? You’ll want photography boards. These mimic marble, stone, wood and luxe textures without the high price tag.
The ones I use are from Amazon & they're perfect for small products that need a plain backdrop - even if you don't have that in your house - Shop here.
5 - Edit Like a Pro (Without The Stress)
You don’t need fancy software — you just need a few apps and a light touch.
Clean edits, consistent tones, and intentional cropping can elevate your visuals fast.
My go-to apps:
📱 CapCut – for smooth cuts, text overlays & transitions
📱 Lightroom Mobile – for aesthetic presets (you can even buy creator packs)
📱 VN – an easy-to-use editing app with no watermark
Pro tip: Stay consistent with your editing style so your content feels cohesive. That’s what gives it the polished, high-end vibe clients are drawn to.
Final Thoughts:
Creating luxury content isn’t about having the most expensive camera. It’s about intention, simplicity and small upgrades that make a big difference.
Whether you’re building your brand, showcasing your services or selling a product — the way you show up online matters. And if you’re not ready to hire a content creator just yet, these tools and tips are your next best thing.
